Hof. The ecostation of the Landesbund für Vogelschutz in Bayern (LBV), based in Helmbrechts, asked Fondsdepot Bank for support in improving its "green classroom". As part of Fondsdepot Bank's first corporate volunteering initiative, employees immediately agreed to lend a hand on site. For one day, they swapped their desks for shovels and rakes.

The ecostation offers numerous information opportunities on native flora and fauna on 13 hectares. In the "Green Classroom", a seating area with a green roof, children and young people, but also adults, can regularly get to grips with the subject of the environment in lectures and activities, especially in the summer months.

Before the ecostation could celebrate its 20th anniversary, a lot had to be done on the outdoor area. For this purpose, the employees of Fondsdepot Bank took advantage of the corporate volunteering program recently introduced in the company. Here, every employee can take one paid day off per year for personal commitment in the spirit of sustainability. Within one day, the subsoil of the "Green Classroom" was filled with gravel and leveled, and various paths across the site were repaired. The material required for this was also donated by Fondsdepot Bank. After the successful work, there was still time for a guided tour of the extensive grounds.

In the future, Fondsdepot Bank will continue to support the work of the ecostation Helmbrechts not only financially, but also actively within the framework of corporate volunteering. The next assignment is already being planned and is to take place this year.
