Jürgen Knab has been the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Fondsdepot Bank - Germany's largest independent fund platform - since 1 May 2020. As a member of the extended circle of management and general representative of the bank, Knab will devote himself intensively to the strategic development and management of the company's IT division.
"We have been thinking about how we can further expand the know-how about IT, innovations and AI in our company. After all, we want to use new technologies to make investment sales easier for our sales partners. Jürgen Knab has the relevant experience to comprehensively digitalize our structures and processes," says Sebastian Henrichs, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fondsdepot Bank, looking forward to further cooperation with Knab. Knab has been supporting the bank as an external consultant since the beginning of the year.
After studying economics, Knab initially gained several years of experience in the field of finance and controlling at various companies. In 2001, he joined the UniCredit Group, and thus the banking world, and has always combined IT competence with financial expertise in his professional career. For many years, Knab was responsible in the UniCredit Group in various management positions at the Milan and Munich locations for extensive topics such as application development transaction banking, digital transformation, corporate IT & back-office operations or IT due diligence for Fintechs. Since 2016 he has been a Managing Partner and most recently worked successfully in his own company in the areas of business development, building up software development teams and CIO advisory.
Jürgen Knab joins the fund platform in exciting times. "In the midst of the Corona pandemic, we not only want to ensure the availability of our IT systems and enable our staff to work digitally, but also to continue our digital transformation to increase customer satisfaction among distribution partners and custody account holders," Knab describes the challenges of his new role at Fondsdepot Bank.
