pTAN or pushTAN is another procedure to generate TANs. Through the registration for the pushTAN procedure, your mobile device is divided into two logical channels, which however does not affect the operation of the smartphone in any way. The two channels do not know anything about each other and are thus separated, which provides the pushTAN procedure with a high level of security.
Due to statutory requirements for all banks, we will discontinue your iTAN procedure (paper iTAN list)for cash account transactions as of 14 September 2019. So-called "strong customer authentication" is required for cash account transactions. iTAN is unable to satisfy these security considerations.
For custody account holders:
You will probably no longer be able to use your current iTAN from 1 April 2020.
For cash account holders:
From 14 September 2019, you will need the pushTAN procedure for the login to the fund banking and to approve electronic payment transactions.
To apply this procedure, use the banking portal of Fondsdepot Bank. Here, enter your transaction details as usual. Subsequently, you will receive a message in the pushTAN app of Fondsdepot Bank. Check the data in this message . The TAN will only be displayed once you confirm. To confirm your transaction, enter the TAN in the respective field in the banking portal.
You need a mobile device with Internet connection, e.g. a Google Android or Apple iOS smartphone or tablet. Please note the applicable requirements for your operating systems, which you can find in the Google Play Store or in the App Store.
Henceforth, Fondsdepot Bank will only use the pTAN procedure. You can continue to use the iTAN procedure for your custody account orders until the end of March 2020. For your cash account, you will only be able to use the pTAN procedure from 14 September 2019.
From 14 September 2019,no new iTAN lists will be sent out. If you need new TANs, please switch to pTAN. You can do so via your Internet access.
After logging in to the online banking portal of Fondsdepot Bank, you can activate the pTAN procedure. You need to activate the pTAN procedure in the banking portal using an iTAN. As soon as you do so, you will receive the activation code by mail within five working days. To use the pTAN, you need our app. Further details will be provided here soon.
Fondsdepot Bank does not charge any additional costs for the download and use of the app. The charges for your mobile Internet access (smartphone, iPad, mobile phone contract etc.) depend on your other contracts and agreements.
For this, you need an Android or iOS smartphone or device. The app is supported by operating systems from Google Android Version 5.0 and Apple iOS from Version 10.0.
On your Android smartphone or tablet, open the Google Play Store app.
Tap the menu item My apps & games. Use the search function to find pushTAN-App of Fondsdepot Bank.
Tap the " pushTAN-App of Fondsdepot Bank" app.
Click Install or Enable.
You can find the iOS app in the App Store under " pushTAN-App of Fondsdepot Bank". Click "Install" in order to download and open the app.
The description and presentation of the pushTAN app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store meets the following requirements:
• Enter your customer number and your activation code as specified in the letter you received.
• The customer number will be stored in the app.
• Please set a password (app PIN).
• The approval is associated with the input of the device activation code.
• Perform the activation by entering your valid activation code.
• You will receive the activation code by mail.
Whenever you order a transaction in the banking portal of Fondsdepot Bank, you will receive a push notification on your smartphone. After entering your password, you can find the needed TAN in the pTAN app.
For each online banking login, you can define a device on which you would like to receive the pushTAN ("TAN medium") under Service -> PIN/TAN administration -> Administer pushTAN. You will receive registration data for this device. The pushTAN app is linked to the hardware of the respective device.
Yes, you can set up several pushTAN connections for different online banking logins and accounts on a single smartphone or tablet.
For security reasons, pushTAN is tied to your smartphone or tablet. Therefore, a new device needs to be registered from scratch. To do this, you must go through the registration process again. You can continue to use the existing login name/authentication ID and the associated online banking PIN.
You can ask your personal advisor to execute your transactions and view your cash account data there.

• The objective is to identify potential manipulation by a Trojan in the online banking and to enable the bank to take suitable measures.
• Unless you initiate a transaction, we will never ask you to enter a TAN.
• Never enter more than one TAN at the same time.
• We will never request you to execute any transactions.
• We will never – neither by telephone nor by text message – ask you to install additional software apart from the "P-TAN of Fondsdepot Bank" app (e.g. to increase the level security).
